Create Currency Exchange
The Currency Exchange feature allows you to convert funds between different currencies across your accounts in the same country, all within the Localpayment platform. This guide walks you through the process of creating a new currency exchange transaction.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
Access Requirements
- Valid credentials for the Localpayment Dashboard
- User account with security settings permissions
Additional Requirements
- Sufficient balance in the source account
- Active account numbers for both source and destination currencies.
Navigation Path
Side Menu → Settlement & Exchange → Currency Exchange → Create
Step-by-Step Guide
- Navigate to the Settlement & Exchange module from the main dashboard.
- Select the Currency Exchange section to access FX operations.
- Click on the Create button to initiate a new exchange.
- Choose the source Country from the dropdown list.
- Click the Convert button of the source account.
- Select the Destination Account where the converted funds will be deposited.
- Enter either the Transaction Amount (amount to convert) or the Received Amount (amount you want to receive).
There is a limited time to complete the transaction (shown in the countdown timer). If you exceed this time, you must request a new quote as exchange rates may have changed.
- Assign an External ID for your internal tracking and reference purposes.
- Click the Continue button to proceed. A confirmation code will be sent to your registered email address.
- Enter the confirmation code in the designated field and click the Convert button to execute the currency exchange. A success message will confirm the transaction completion.

- Rates are updated in real-time.
- Quotes are valid for a limited time.
